Drop files or whole folders onto CAD > STEP. Each file is converted on your Mac and saved as a .stp next to the original, with the same name. Nothing is overwritten: if the name is taken, the new file gets a number.
Real geometry, not a mesh
- Solids stay solids. Planes, cylinders, cones, spheres, tori and freeform surfaces are written as what they are, not broken into triangles.
- Ready to machine, measure, simulate or edit in your own CAD program.
- Assemblies keep every part in its place.
- Part and body names come across.
- Only what was shown in the file is exported. Hidden construction bodies stay hidden.
Checked, not guessed
- Every solid is checked to be closed and valid before the file is saved.
- If part of a model can’t be read exactly, CAD > STEP tells you which part. It never fills the gap with an approximation.
- Originals are only read, never changed.
Reads the files you have
- CATIA V5 parts and assemblies (.CATPart, .CATProduct), R13 onwards
- Creo and Pro/ENGINEER (.prt, .asm)
- SOLIDWORKS (.sldprt, .sldasm)
- Siemens NX (.prt)
Files are recognised by what’s inside them, not by their extension, so Creo and NX .prt files are told apart automatically.
Private by design
Your files never leave your Mac. No upload, no cloud, no tracking. Fine for confidential and NDA work.
